How do I place an order?
To order an account simply click on the PayPal button.

Are there any restrictions to the content I can put on my server?
Yes - child pornography, “adult sites” and other materials that are illegal are not allowed. Click
here to read our Acceptable Use Policy.

Is there a minimum time contract/commitment?
Not at all. Payment is made yearly, but you may cancel whenever you like.

How can we offer such a good deal?

·  GJ Webs is a reseller of shared web hosting. Our supplier offers us a great deal that we pass on to you, our client.

·  We don't spend a lot of money running a fancy website, or on advertising. We rely primarily on word-of-mouth advertising which doesn't cost us anything (we just have to offer a product that people want to tell their friends about).

Do I have access to update my site 24 hours a day?
Absolutely. Whether you're a day person or a night owl, your site is available for you to update.

How soon will my account be set up and ready for use?
Account orders are placed in a queue and are processed in the order in which they are received. As soon as your account is set up you can immediately begin uploading via your IP address. It may take up to a few days for your domain name to resolve to our servers.

DOMAIN NAME QUESTIONS:

How long does it take to register a domain name?
It only takes a few minutes, but it may be 24 to 48 hours before the domain can actually be accessed from the web.

Where can I register a Domain Name?
GJ Webs is now a reseller of Domain Names. Go to our
Domain Names page and sign up for your domain name. Our prices are usually the same as you will find with GoDaddy. You’ll be in business as soon as your name propagates.

What if I already have a registered Domain name?
You have to change the DNS so that your site can be activated on our servers. It usually takes up to 24 - 48 hours for your site to resolve to our servers. Just contact the registrar or hosting company that you registered with and ask them to change your name servers to the name servers specified in your welcome email. Many registrars allow you to change your DNS online.

You can sign up for your hosting account with us either before or after you do register your Domain Name.

TECHNICAL QUESTIONS

What happens after I order an account?
Once you have paid via PayPal, you will be directed to a page asking for the information we will need to service your account: domain name, email address, desired password. As soon as we receive this info, we will begin setting up your account - often within minutes of receiving your order. Once your account is ready and payment is processed, we will contact you via the email address from your PayPal account with all the info you need to start using your site..

Can I use CGI scripts?
Yes, you will have your own CGI-BIN where you can install your own scripts. All CGI scripts should be uploaded to the cgi-bin folder, for your domain. Be sure to follow the instructions for the script you are uploading regarding setting permissions on the files and folders you create, as they vary from script to script.

Can I use JAVA and Active X?
Yes, you can use compiled JAVA applets and ActiveX components.

Is my site backed up and how often?
It is the clients responsibility to do all backups of their site. If, in the unfortunate event, something happens to your files, it is your responsibility to have a local copy of your files. We are NOT held liable in any way for any files, money, time, effort, etc... lost due to this unfortunate event. If your files are lost, contact us and we will attempt to restore them as a gesture of good faith, but make no promises what so ever about whether the files will be brought back successfully or not. Again, back ups are the client's responsibility.

How fast are your connections?
Our servers have multiple 100Mbps connections.

What are your server specifications?
As of the writing of this FAQ, the servers have bee upgraded to
Dual AMD Opteron 246, 2GB Ram, 2x250GB HD, CentOS 3.6,

cPanel. Of course as technology advances we will too.

How do I get my email?
If you're familiar with your email client's setup, use the following information to retrieve email from your POP account:

Incoming mail (POP3) server: mail.yourdomainname

Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: Use Your Internet Provider’s SMTP

Webmail: http://yourdomainnsme/webmail

Your username is your email address.

What method of payment can I use?
We accept credit cards and e-checks via the secure PayPal system. If you need some other payment arraignment, contact me and we’ll see if we can work it out.

How do I cancel my Account?
You can cancel your account at any time. We ask for a 30 day written notice by email to
support@gjwebs.com.

What about billing and over due policies?
If a PayPal payment fails, your account will be given a grace period of 7 days, if payment is not received within the grace period your account will be deleted from our servers.
